About the Role

This role contributes to legislative drafting programs through the investigation and analysis of legislative proposals to produce high quality, accurate and unambiguous legislation within strict deadlines. With guidance from senior drafters, you will undertake drafting projects of moderate complexity, including preparing drafts of Bills, subordinate legislation and environmental planning instruments. Under supervision, you will advise on the legality and interpretation of proposed subordinate legislation and other instruments.

Responsibilities

Investigate and analyze legislative proposals.
Produce high quality, accurate, and unambiguous legislation.
Undertake drafting projects of moderate complexity.
Prepare drafts of Bills, subordinate legislation, and environmental planning instruments.
Advise on the legality of proposed subordinate legislation and other instruments.
Advise on the feasibility of legislative proposals.
Advise on the interpretation of legislation.

Requirements

Admission as a legal practitioner in NSW.
Eligibility to hold a NSW practising certificate.
