About the Role
Join Stantec’s Geospatial team in Sydney, supplying survey services for diverse projects throughout New South Wales. This role offers the opportunity to work with specialist surveyors on rail, transport, and infrastructure projects, managing and delivering survey projects using the latest technology and supported by respected professionals.
Responsibilities
- Complete field surveys including topographic, feature, engineering, and construction set-out.
- Operate survey equipment such as total stations, GNSS/GPS receivers, digital levels, and data collectors.
- Process survey data and prepare CAD drawings, plans, and spatial deliverables.
- Maintain equipment, field notes, and data records to company standards.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and site teams to clarify survey requirements.
- Support quality assurance and compliance with safety protocols on all sites.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of survey workflows and technology use.
Requirements
- A relevant qualification in Surveying.
- 2–5 years of experience as a Survey Technician or Survey Assistant.
- Experience with survey equipment (e.g., Trimble, Leica, or similar).
- Working knowledge of CAD or survey processing software (e.g., Civil 3D, 12D, Magnet).
- Strong attention to detail with excellent record-keeping.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A valid driver’s licence (essential).
