About the Role
Join Sprouts Farmers Market as a Bakery Clerk to prepare and bake cookies, bread, and muffins, providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced, friendly environment. Help customers make healthy choices at one of the fastest-growing retailers.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and package all baked goods.
- Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods.
- Provide a high level of customer service, ensuring proper preparation, packaging, and presentation of Bakery items.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment, including cleaning shelves, products, and floors, and removing hazardous debris.
- Stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while managing product rotation and discarding outdated items.
- Receive, inspect, and log products for shipment accuracy, temperature, and quality.
- Answer phones and take special orders.
- Perform general housekeeping in the department, cleaning and sanitizing work areas.
- Operate and use various bakery equipment and tools.
- Accurately weigh and label products using knowledge of scales and weight measures.
- Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations.
- Maintain a Food Handlers permit.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Outgoing and friendly demeanor with a positive attitude.
- Ability to interact with customers.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to take direction and participate in a team environment.
- Ability to stand for up to 3 hours continuously, for a total of 8 hours per shift.
- Ability to vertically transfer trays up to 5 lbs., from 7” to 64” for up to 10 hours.
- Ability to vertically/horizontally transfer items up to 40 lbs., from 5” to 36”, for a distance up to 36 feet for up to 10 hours without mechanical assistance.
