About the Role

Swissport is seeking dedicated individuals to join their team in various locations globally. The role is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the GSE department, providing technical advice to maintenance staff, and planning vehicle maintenance and repairs to meet quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental activities at the station.
  • Supervise daily operation of the shop.
  • Perform all responsibilities of a Fleet Mechanic.
  • Communicate with Senior Management, Ramp staff, and SP Customers professionally.
  • Liaise with Ramp management to coordinate repairs and servicing.
  • Review and modify Preventive Maintenance schedules.
  • Provide training or recommend training for GSE staff.
  • Assist with inventory and budgetary control, including ordering parts.
  • Assist mechanics in problem diagnostics and answer technical questions.
  • Ensure all staff follow safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Maintain shop appearance and track service equipment maintenance.
  • Maintain EPA requirements.
  • Ensure quality control on all equipment after repairs.
  • Maintain a valid motor vehicle driver’s license for airside/non-airside operations.
  • Ensure a copy of WHIMIS is available for the GSE shop.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of GSE/Fleet Maintenance experience.
  • Experience in a supervisory role.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Certification of completion in Heavy duty/Commercial or Automotive mechanic license.
  • Knowledge of computer maintenance program, Maximo.
  • Good oral and verbal communication skills.
  • Willing to travel for training or to assist other SP stations.
