About the Role
BDO has a unique opportunity for experienced M&A Tax Senior Consultants to join its Private Equity & Corporate M&A Tax team in Sydney. Successful applicants will be key members of a dedicated team working closely with domestic and international private equity, VC firms, and corporate clients on their critical interests in Australia and globally.
Responsibilities
- Engage in the full spectrum of Private Equity/M&A tax advisory work, including tax due diligence, domestic and international transaction structuring, transaction documentation reviews, modelling, MEP structuring, FIRB considerations, Private Binding Ruling preparation, and fund structuring.
- Act as a contact person for internal stakeholders on transactions and assist with communications with external stakeholders such as clients, commercial lawyers, investment bankers, investigating accountants, and other service providers.
- Work closely with Partners, Directors, and Managers across various BDO tax and Corporate Finance, Commercial Due Diligence, and other Deal Advisory services teams engaged on a transaction.
- Build enduring relationships with clients to develop your professional practice.
- Work in an inclusive, supportive, and professional environment as part of a wider National Tax team with significant growth ambitions.
Requirements
- 2-4 years' tax experience in working with a M&A/Deals Advisory/Corporate tax practice of a Big 4 or Mid-tier accounting firm, or as a Corporate Tax advisor at a Law firm.
- Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Accounting, or Law.
- Attendant Professional qualifications as a CA, CTA, or lawyer.
- Commercial understanding of M&A transactions.
- Project management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Sound track record of assisting on tax due diligence, tax structuring, and fund structuring skills with an interest to develop these further.
- A collaborative, innovative, and inclusive working style.
