About the Role

We are seeking an experienced IT Asset Management (ITAM) professional to play a key delivery role in providing accurate, defensible software baselining outcomes for Tier 1 & tier 2 software vendors across complex client environments. This position is focused on establishing trusted Effective Licence Positions (ELPs) by analysing entitlement, deployment, and usage data, and applying detailed licensing rules and contractual terms. The role requires a strong understanding of enterprise ITAM tools and vendor licensing frameworks to support compliance, audit readiness, and cost‑optimisation initiatives. Working as part of multi‑disciplinary engagement teams, the Senior Consultant partners closely with clients, internal specialists, and tool administrators to identify data gaps, resolve discrepancies, and ensure baseline integrity. The role involves hands‑on data analysis, licensing interpretation, and ITAM tool implementation/troubleshooting, combined with clear documentation and communication of outcomes and risks. As a client‑facing consultant, the Senior Consultant contributes to high‑quality delivery, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement of baselining methodologies across a range of industries and regulatory environments.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver accurate Tier 1 & Tier 2 vendor software baselines that provide clients with a trusted view of their licensing position.
  • Design, implement, configure and optimise ITAM tooling solutions, including platforms such as FlexeraOne, Snow Atlas and ServiceNow SAM/HAM Pro.
  • Interpret complex vendor licensing rules and apply them to real‑world deployment and usage data.
  • Analyse and validate discovery, inventory, and entitlement data to identify gaps, risks, and optimisation opportunities.
  • Troubleshoot data quality, discovery, and licensing calculation issues impacting baseline accuracy.
  • Support client decision‑making during audits, renewals, and commercial negotiations through clear and defensible baseline outputs.
  • Produce software baselines and ELPs for Tier 1 & Tier 2 vendors using tools such as FlexeraOne, Snow Atlas, and ServiceNow SAM Pro, as well as KPMG proprietary discovery tools.
  • Perform in‑depth analysis of deployment, usage, and entitlement data to validate accuracy and completeness.
  • Apply vendor licensing metrics, product use rights, and contract terms to calculate compliance positions.
  • Identify data gaps, anomalies, and tooling limitations, and work with technical teams to remediate issues.
  • Support and/or lead ITAM platform architecture, integrations, upgrades and lifecycle management across complex enterprise environments.
  • Document assumptions, data sources, and licensing logic to ensure audit‑ready and repeatable baseline outcomes.
  • Support audit defence activities, including baseline walkthroughs, evidence preparation, and issue clarification.
  • Collaborate with peers, managers, and stakeholders to deliver engagement outcomes on time and to quality standards.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, baseline methodologies, and continual improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Proven experience delivering software baselines for Tier 1 vendors (e.g. Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, IBM, Adobe).
  • Strong understanding of common enterprise software licensing models and metrics.
  • Hands‑on experience with ITAM tools such as FlexeraOne, Snow Atlas, and/or ServiceNow SAM Pro.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and identify licensing risk and optimisation opportunities.
  • Experience troubleshooting discovery data, inventory gaps, and reconciliation challenges.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain baseline outcomes and risks to clients.
  • Consulting or client‑facing experience, ideally across multiple industries.
