About the Role

The Data Officer is responsible for maintaining data quality control and management, including data cleaning, query resolution, mapping, and database design, development, and implementation. The role ensures the continued functioning of electronic databases to facilitate research studies, primarily using REDCap for clinical data collection and study management.

Responsibilities

• Maintain data quality control and management.
• Ensure continued functioning of electronic databases.
• Provide data solutions for clinical data collection and study management using REDCap.
• Work closely with study teams to ensure the quality, integrity, and accessibility of clinical study data.
• Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of electronic databases and study management tools.
• Support research projects from setup through to reporting.
• Streamline data collection processes and enable evidence-based outcomes.
• Collaborate with study site staff to ensure high-quality clinical data entry and cleaning.
• Offer training and guidance in data entry and database use.
• Develop and update procedures, tools, and resources to govern data cleaning, database design, building, testing, and maintenance.
• Build clinical study databases for data collection and analysis, incorporating data validation rules.

Requirements

• Graduate biomedical science qualifications, computer or other medical qualifications including Nursing with relevant experience in the conduct of clinical research.
• Demonstrated experience in data management, data cleaning, data query resolution, and data mapping.
• Proven knowledge of International Council for Harmonisation Good Clinical Research Practice Guidelines (ICH GCP).
• Proven initiative, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Capacity to meet deadlines.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail.
• Must hold full rights to work in Australia.
