About the Role

Shape the growth of Zip's strategic merchant partnerships and drive commercial success. Bring expertise in strategic account management, commercial negotiations, and executive stakeholder engagement to deliver meaningful business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Own the growth, retention, and commercial success of a portfolio of strategic merchant partners.
  • Develop and execute account and vertical strategies that drive revenue growth, customer acquisition, and long-term partnership success.
  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders at every level, including senior executives and C-suite decision-makers.
  • Lead commercial negotiations that deliver value for both Zip and merchant partners.
  • Identify opportunities to expand product adoption and grow the breadth of Zip's merchant partnerships.
  • Partner closely with Business Development, Marketing, Product, Engineering, Legal, and other cross-functional teams to deliver commercial objectives.
  • Lead regular business reviews with merchant partners, sharing insights, performance trends, and strategic recommendations.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer behavior to identify new opportunities and potential risks.
  • Champion Best Practice Integration standards, ensuring Zip branding and customer experiences are optimized while remaining compliant.
  • Drive scalable improvements across merchant processes, identifying opportunities to improve partner experience and commercial performance.
  • Collaborate with global sales teams to share insights, best practices, and growth opportunities.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience managing strategic customer or merchant relationships within consumer, financial services, technology, or payments businesses.
  • A proven track record of developing commercial partnerships that deliver sustainable revenue growth.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a solid understanding of payments, credit, ecommerce, or retail markets.
  • Excellent relationship management, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and executive decision-makers.
  • Experience developing and presenting compelling business cases supported by commercial insights.
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to translate data into practical commercial recommendations.
  • Excellent planning, organization, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously.
  • Experience using presentation tools to communicate ideas and influence stakeholders.
  • A mindset that embraces AI and new tools to adapt, learn, and grow.
  • An aptitude for identifying and managing risks.
