About the Role

We are expanding our power trading division and seeking a Finance professional to maximize investor value in our merchant business model. This role will manage post-financial close (NTP onwards, construction to commercial operation) of large and medium-scale energy storage projects, including loan agreement management, reporting to lenders and investors, and financial management of Special Purpose Companies (SPCs/GKs). You will maintain strong relationships with investors and lenders, prevent defaults, and ensure smooth financial operations. Future responsibilities may include M&A activities related to project rights sales. Additionally, as a team member of the power trading division, you will engage in power trading (market bidding, market analysis, transaction/revenue maximization) and asset management/O&M (operational efficiency, performance guarantees, permit maintenance), deepening your expertise in solar and battery assets essential for the future power system. You will collaborate with trading, PPA, and asset management specialists within the team.

Responsibilities

Manage and fulfill loan agreements (LA), including disbursement procedures based on construction progress, document compilation, and execution management.
Monitor financial covenants (e.g., DSCR) and provide early alerts to prevent breaches.
Manage and ensure timely submission of contractual obligations, such as regular reporting.
Handle regular financial reporting to investors and lenders (monthly, quarterly, annual), covering financial status and business performance.
Negotiate waivers and amendments with lenders and investors for operational changes.
Serve as the primary contact for financial inquiries from external stakeholders.
Oversee accounting, tax, and financial management for SPCs/GKs, coordinating with internal finance/accounting departments and external tax/accounting firms.
Manage cash flow and budget vs. actuals, including recording income and expenses, and forecasting cash flow.
Process payments and receipts within SPC accounts, including electricity sales revenue and loan repayments.
Check compliance with major project contracts (EPC, LTSA, O&M, Aggregator) and manage their impact on financial plans and loan agreements.
Act as a hub between the power trading division (PT) and other departments, promptly reflecting operational performance impacts on financial cash flow into reports.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years of experience in the management of project finance (PF) during the post-closing phase (loan management, drawdown, lender relations) within the renewable energy, infrastructure, or real estate sectors.
Financial skills to interpret financial statements (BS, PL, CF) and create/update cash flow forecasts and budget vs. actuals models.
Legal and contract literacy to accurately understand contract terms (English and Japanese) and manage negotiations and performance.
Knowledge of accounting, tax, and closing procedures for Special Purpose Companies (SPCs/GKs).
Experience with English correspondence and negotiations/reporting with overseas investors and global financial institutions.
Understanding of or interest in grid-scale battery storage projects and power market trading (merchant models).
