About the Role

Buffalo Science Charter School is seeking a dependable, hardworking Cleaner to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, is reliable, and enjoys contributing to a positive school community.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, cafeterias, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and empty trash and recycling containers.
• Replenish restroom and cleaning supplies as needed.
• Clean windows, doors, and other surfaces.
• Set up and break down rooms for meetings, school events, and activities.
• Report maintenance needs, safety concerns, or building issues to the appropriate supervisor.
• Follow established cleaning procedures and safety protocols.
• Safely operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning products according to manufacturer guidelines.
• Assist with seasonal cleaning projects and other custodial duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous custodial or commercial cleaning experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and climbing stairs throughout the workday.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
