About the Role
A multi-discipline consulting firm is seeking a Mechanical Department Manager for their growing team in Huntington, New York.
Responsibilities
- Manage Mechanical Engineering department
- Oversee staff workload
- Coordinate Mechanical/HVAC projects with MEP teams and other disciplines to ensure timely completion
- Review and approve scopes, budgets, and schedules
- Assess project and financial performance
- Prepare construction drawings and specifications
- Build and maintain client relationships
- Provide technical leadership, production/scheduling, quality control, and cost proposals
- Assist with business development
- Facilitate and attend construction administration meetings
- Review contractor submittments and provide feedback
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- 18+ years of overall MEP experience with a strong focus on HVAC projects
- 8+ years of project management experience
- Prior experience working with local municipalities/government agencies
- Experience managing Mechanical/HVAC staff at various levels
- Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship
