About the Role

Lead research, planning, development, and execution for CPA Ontario’s Professional Development Conference Portfolio, ensuring programs remain relevant and engaging. This role is for a content professional who thrives at the intersection of research, relationship-building, and program design, translating insights into meaningful learning experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Own the development of the annual conference content plan and content pipeline.
  • Lead ongoing market research and stakeholder engagement to identify content, speaker, and product opportunities.
  • Own CPA Ontario’s speaker and subject matter expert development strategy.
  • Build and maintain a strategic database of speakers and industry contacts.
  • Develop conference themes, agendas, session formats, learning objectives, and content frameworks.
  • Lead the conference development process from concept through execution.
  • Partner with Marketing, Events, Operations, Sponsorship and Product teams to launch and deliver conference programs.
  • Lead conference planning meetings and maintain planning documentation.
  • Contribute to marketing messaging and promotional content.
  • Serve as the primary content lead throughout the conference development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in Business, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Education or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in content development, content strategy, market research, conference programming, professional education, media, publishing or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to research emerging trends and identify market opportunities.
  • Ability to translate insights into engaging content and learning experiences.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to establish credibility and maintain relationships with subject matter experts, industry leaders and senior professionals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in interviewing, networking, facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage timelines, dependencies and competing priorities across multiple concurrent conferences and initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to synthesize research, feedback and market data into actionable recommendations.
  • Self-motivated and proactive approach.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across cross-functional teams.
