About the Role
As an Account Manager, you will support day-to-day client activities, provide guidance to junior team members, manage client relationships and integrated communication programs, and contribute to new business generation and account growth. You will support the corporate strategy and ensure superior client service, a winning culture, and profitability.
Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day client activities and provide guidance to junior team members.
- Manage client relationships and integrated communication programs.
- Satisfy and delight clients, help generate new business, and grow existing accounts.
- Support corporate strategy and office performance to ensure superior client service, a winning culture, and profitability.
- Stay current on clients’ businesses, industries, and competitors to develop strategic communications programs.
- Act as a day-to-day client leader and maintain clear communication between the client and the account team.
- Oversee quality implementation for accounts within time and budget constraints.
- Manage client relationships and serve as the client’s key contact, counselor, and strategic thinker.
- Develop various communication materials such as Q&A, key messages, holding statements, and press releases.
- Support senior managers in resolving client issues.
- Maintain rapport with media members to optimize channels.
- Develop media strategies, write pitch letters, and respond to media queries.
- Stay updated on social media channels, trends, and analytical tools.
- Support digital media strategy implementation.
- Identify new business opportunities within existing and potential clients.
- Participate in new business brainstorms and take ownership of proposal sections.
- Coach and mentor junior team members, helping them grow within the organization.
- Create an inclusive and welcoming environment.
- Provide on-the-job training to new team members and delegate tasks.
- Provide continuous constructive feedback and brief superiors on team member performance.
- Record time in Maconomy and inform supervisors of time spent.
- Ensure client activities are documented and budget/status reports are submitted.
- Follow agency procedures for client budgets, tracking, contract approval, and billing rates.
- Allocate resources for agency profitability.
- Manage vendor relationships, costs, and invoicing.
- Use Burson’s intranet and resources, keeping profiles updated.
- Act as a brand ambassador and assist in recruiting top talent.
- Adhere to Burson’s confidentiality, disclosure agreements, and code of ethics/conduct.
Requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to support senior managers and leaders in resolving client issues.
- Ability to support Directors and other senior leaders to identify new business opportunities.
- Ability to take ownership of portions of new business proposals under guidance.
- Ability to provide on-the-job training to new team members.
- Ability to delegate tasks to junior team members with clarity.
- Ability to keep immediate superiors briefed on team member performance.
- Ability to ensure recognition of good performance and timely resolution of concerns.
- Ability to manage vendor relationships, costs, and invoicing.
- Ability to adhere to Burson’s confidentiality and disclosure agreements and code of ethics/conduct.
