About the Role

The Event Director will lead the strategy, growth, production, and execution of Groceryshop, the premier event for grocery and CPG innovation. This high-impact leadership role involves full responsibility for commercial performance, customer experience, and long-term growth strategy, overseeing all aspects including revenue, content, operations, and product development.

Responsibilities

  • Own the overall vision, strategy, and delivery of the event.
  • Develop annual growth plans aligned with revenue, attendance, and profitability objectives.
  • Lead cross-functional planning and execution across Sales, Marketing, Content, and Operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement in customer experience.
  • Serve as the internal champion and external ambassador for the brand.
  • Own event revenue and profitability targets.
  • Partner with Sales leadership to maximize sponsorship, exhibition, and delegate revenue.
  • Review sales pipelines, forecasts, and inventory utilization.
  • Support the sale of high-value sponsorship opportunities.
  • Develop new revenue streams, products, and commercial partnerships.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity.
  • Evolve the event proposition to maintain industry leadership.
  • Develop new content formats, networking experiences, and hosted programs.
  • Utilize customer feedback and market research to inform product decisions.
  • Partner with the hosted retailer team to recruit and retain senior executives.
  • Build relationships with grocery retailers, wholesalers, and commerce businesses.
  • Expand strategic retailer participation internationally.
  • Build and maintain relationships with industry associations and media partners.
  • Represent the brand at industry events.
  • Own the event P&L, including budget development and revenue forecasting.
  • Monitor costs, margins, and resource allocation.
  • Lead and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture.
  • Coach and develop team members.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience leading large-scale events, commercial businesses, or strategic initiatives in high-growth B2B organizations.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated success owning significant revenue and profit targets.
  • Strong financial planning, forecasting, and budget management experience.
  • Ability to work from the Midtown Manhattan office three days per week (Tuesday–Thursday).
