About the Role

The Power Distribution Systems and Services (PDSS) Engineering team is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to support customer projects and the development of the PD product portfolio. This role involves reviewing client specifications, formulating engineering solutions, and ensuring compliance with contractual and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare electrical & mechanical drawings and reports, ensuring designs comply with electrical and safety requirements.
• Collaborate with PMO to obtain customer approval for submitted drawings.
• Create standard product BOM & Routing, and purchase requisitions via the ERP system, liaising with product management, procurement, and assembly partners.
• Process Engineering Change Orders through the ERP system.
• Issue parts to assembly partners and coordinate project completion.
• Establish testing plans (ITP/ITS) and oversee product testing/FATs.
• Provide guidance to procurement and assembly partners for project completion.
• Offer product application support to Marketing, Sales, Project Management teams, and customers.
• Provide technical support to Operations, QA, and Project Management teams, including test result reviews and product failure investigations.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience as a project or design engineer, preferably in electrical switchgear and installations for Medium or Low Voltage.
• Experience in a design/manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of Standards AS/NZS3000, AS2067, AS/NZS62271 suite & IEC62271 suite.
• Proficiency in SAP ERP and Microsoft Office Suite.

Skills

• AutoCAD experience (Autodesk Inventor 3D highly regarded)
• EPlan experience (highly regarded)
