About the Role

The Operations Supervisor is a critical role in ensuring that McGee Air Services delivers best-in-class ground handling services. This role monitors operational performance, supervises team members, and fosters an environment where safety, engagement, and performance are paramount.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a culture that encourages communication and values team members.
  • Dispatch, assign work, and monitor ramp, fleet, and baggage transfer operations.
  • Coach, guide, and mentor team members to meet safety and operational metrics.
  • Prepare and present safety and operational briefings.
  • Partner with other supervisors and leadership for effective task balancing and coverage.
  • Act as a liaison between McGee Air Services and customers.
  • Represent McGee in briefings with customer Managers on Duty for irregular operations and special situations.
  • Conduct investigations and collect information on operational/safety metrics.
  • Assist in safety incidents, ensuring follow-ups, lessons learned, and corrective actions are documented and implemented.
  • Actively observe operations to identify areas for improvement in safety, training, and operations.
  • Prepare and communicate performance reports, including shift reports, data, and incident summaries.
  • Monitor staffing and coordinate re-balancing of operational crews.
  • Perform required audits, investigations, and participate in/lead disciplinary actions.
  • Evaluate performance, coach, and counsel employees, documenting discussions and improvement plans.
  • Promote and maintain a culture of safety and mutual respect.
  • Ensure equipment is available, maintained, and operated safely, performing daily inspections.
  • Foster an inclusive, engaging, and high-performance culture demonstrating McGee’s values.
  • Recognize and celebrate individual and team performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of airline experience with proven skills in station operations, including passenger service, cargo handling, fleet service, or ground operations preferred.
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to diffuse tense and/or stressful situations and workplace conflicts.
  • Experience coaching and counseling team members on performance-related issues preferred.
  • Skilled in all aspects of aircraft servicing, loading, baggage and cargo handling.
  • Self-motivated individual able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Able to lead, motivate, and successfully communicate with a diverse workgroup.
  • Proven ability to direct the work of others in a positive way.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain airport security clearance, customs seal, and/or USPS security clearance including background criminal history check, drug screen and fingerprinting.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Ability to push wheelchair with passenger who may weigh over 200 pounds.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Employees will be required to obtain and maintain a SIDA badge.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of applicable pre-employment requirements, which may include a criminal background check, drug test, driving record review, employment verification, and other job-related screenings.
