About the Role

Provide essential care and support to individuals in their homes or healthcare facilities. Assist with activities of daily living, maintain confidentiality, offer direct support, assist with medication reminders, and ensure a clean environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care and assistance to individuals in their homes or healthcare facilities to maximize their independence.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, medication reminders, light housekeeping, and meal preparation.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
  • Monitor clients' health by observing changes in their condition and reporting any concerns to healthcare professionals.
  • Help with mobility and physical activities, including transferring clients when needed.
  • Provide personal care to hospice patients and their families during end-of-life stages.
  • Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality.
  • Document care provided and maintain accurate records as required by the organization.

Requirements

  • CNA certification required.
  • Experience in ADLs, heavy lifting, hospice care, HIPAA compliance, direct support roles, driving clients, cleaning, or working in nursing homes or assisted living facilities is preferred.

Skills

  • Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong understanding of senior care principles and practices, particularly in assisted living environments.
  • Experience with ADLs and providing personal care to individuals.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and maintaining privacy and confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with hospice care practices and providing emotional support to patients and families.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed while assisting clients with mobility or transfers.
  • Experience in home community care settings is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with patient care protocols and best practices in caregiving.
  • Valid driver's license for transportation purposes, if required for the position.
