About the Role
Nippon Express U.S.A., Inc. (NEU) is seeking an Air Import Supervisor to provide departmental support and supervise staff in the Air Import department. This role involves daily operations, customer interaction, issue resolution, data analysis, and ensuring compliance with company policies and government regulations.
Responsibilities
- Provide departmental support and supervise staff in the Air Import department.
- Engage in daily operations including direct contact with customers, brokers, subcontractors, and internal departments.
- Investigate and resolve issues and discrepancies.
- Collect and analyze department data to support departmental goals.
- Supervise and direct Import staff in performing work according to operating procedures.
- Issue freight bills and invoices to brokers and manage collection of unpaid invoices.
- Monitor staff performance and scheduling.
- Train Import staff.
- Ensure department compliance with company policies, procedures, and government regulations.
- Review workflows and procedures, providing feedback to maintain high service quality.
- Document, record, and report all discrepancies, including missed deadlines.
- Work professionally and effectively with operations staff to achieve target goals.
- Communicate with overseas branches and sales staff to support business retention and acquisition.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with management, peers, and co-workers.
- Provide direct training to staff.
- Handle other job assignments as determined by the direct Manager.
Requirements

- Minimum 3+ years of Air Import experience.
- Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory position.
- Flexibility with work schedule.

- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Great computer skills (Microsoft Word & Excel, Outlook).
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate, or significant relevant working experience.
- Ability to work with customers, vendors, and outside organizations.
- This position is predominantly sedentary office work involving sitting, typing, filing, and conversing on the phone.

- $78,000 - $90,000
