About the Role

The Project Leader is responsible for providing support and leadership to volunteers, contributing to the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank's mission to end hunger in San Francisco and Marin counties.

Responsibilities

• Lead a group of volunteers responsible for projects such as building food kits, packing grocery bags, working in a clean room, or reboxing produce.
• Oversee and assist volunteers, including managing program supplies, set-up, check-in, and sorting/packing food boxes.
• Train, supervise, and assign roles to a team, ensuring adherence to guidelines and protocols.
• Orient volunteers, including public speaking.
• Set up and coordinate projects onsite.
• Maintain a tidy and clean workspace.
• Ensure the volunteer area is a friendly and positive experience, creating a welcoming and respectful atmosphere.
• Collect and communicate necessary information to staff, Food Resources, and the Community Engagement team.
• Operate material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.) safely for warehouse duties.
• Sort and process produce and food drive products.
• Perform other duties and tasks as required.

Requirements
