About the Role

Reddam House North Shore, an Inspired Education Group school, is seeking outstanding educators to join its team in preparation for significant growth. The Secondary History Teacher will guide students from Year 7 to Year 12, delivering high-quality instruction aligned with the NESA curriculum within a nurturing, student-centred environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver inspiring and challenging lessons aligned with the school's curriculum, policies, and external assessment requirements.
  • Individualize and differentiate learning to ensure each student is stretched, supported, and makes outstanding progress.
  • Regularly assess students' learning, providing targeted feedback to drive progress and ensure all students reach their potential.
  • Establish a classroom and school environment where students feel valued, supported, and ready to take risks.
  • Collaborate with colleagues as an active member of the learning community, sharing best practices and dedicating yourself to professional development.
  • Play an active role in the school's co-curricular program and contribute to whole school initiatives.
  • Maintain open and constructive communication with parents to build strong partnerships that support student progress.

Requirements

  • A genuine passion for education, with the ability to engage, motivate, and positively impact young people.
  • A proven track record of excellence in personal, academic, and professional achievements.
  • In-depth expertise in and passion for History, with the ability to inspire students and support outstanding progress.
  • Expertise in assessing student progress, providing targeted feedback, and enhancing student performance, including in external assessments.
  • Experience in providing pastoral care and promoting student wellbeing, with a strong focus on individual attention and high standards of welfare.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and independently.
  • A track record of establishing strong, positive relationships with families.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, able to plan and prioritise a varied workload, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure.
  • Energy, enthusiasm, and a positive, flexible, and resourceful approach to working in a dynamic school environment.
  • Valid Working with Children Check.
  • Willingness to assist with lunch/playground supervision and student drop-off/pick-up.
  • Availability to attend school events outside regular hours (e.g., performances, parent evenings).
