About the Role

The Senior Technician serves as a primary technical resource on-site, providing leadership and oversight for installation, service, troubleshooting, commissioning, and programming. This role involves mentoring junior technicians, coordinating with project managers, and ensuring efficient project execution through technical expertise and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead installation and servicing of cabling infrastructure, audiovisual, security, and building technology systems.
• Install audio and video conferencing, distributed audio, digital signage, sound reinforcement, and control systems.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting on system-level, device-level, programming, networking, AV, and CCTV issues.
• Configure device IDs and IP addresses while maintaining technical records for project teams.
• Construct racks with proper cable management, dressing, termination, and labeling.
• Interpret system diagrams, construction drawings, BOMs, and project specifications.
• Update drawings for as-builts and manage project closeout documentation.
• Organize daily site work to maintain efficiency and meet project goals.
• Mentor, coach, and train Technicians I and II.
• Communicate project updates, technical risks, and key decisions to stakeholders.
• Act as the primary point of contact for other trades, contractors, and customers on-site.
• Ensure team compliance with safety and incident reporting procedures.

Requirements

• Progressive experience installing and maintaining complex Audio-Visual systems in a commercial environment.
• 5 or more years of experience in an AV technician role.
• Flexibility to work in various environments, including construction sites and corporate offices.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean abstract.
• Ability to work in a high-volume atmosphere.
• Ability to solve practical problems under minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills under deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to interact effectively across diverse cultures and organizational levels.
