About the Role
As a Deployment Engineer at Sigma, you will guide new customers through the implementation of their first use case, ensuring they adopt best practices and become proficient users of the platform. You will collaborate with various internal teams to ensure a smooth and impactful customer onboarding experience, combining technical expertise with a customer-centric approach.
Responsibilities
- Drive new customer deployment with a focus on environment setup, adoption, and self-sufficiency.
- Guide users, data engineers, and developers on Sigma methodologies, tailoring guidance to their skill sets.
- Define successful deployment paths based on customer business needs and purchase drivers.
- Provide implementation expertise in areas such as Sigma best practices, environment setup, data connection configuration, product roadmap, migration, workflow integration, data modeling, performance optimization, and security.
- Drive customer accountability for achieving first value, working with Sales and Customer Success Managers.
- Manage key customer milestones from sales handoff to first value activation and CS handoff.
- Create a feedback loop to Product, Support, and Sales teams to optimize customer onboarding.
- Identify and address onboarding risks and blockers.
- Document new knowledge and cross-train team members.
Requirements
- 6 years of overall experience in data warehousing, AI app development, data analytics, or business intelligence.
- 3 years of hands-on BI development experience in a customer-facing technical role using tools like Tableau, Looker, Power BI, Sisense, Qlik, or ThoughtSpot.
- Hands-on SQL proficiency, including dimensional data modeling and data shaping techniques.
- Experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, Databricks, Amazon Redshift, and Google BigQuery.
- Clear communication style with the ability to explain complex technical issues simply.
- Experience building performant and well-structured data applications for cross-product workflows, including API connectors and external storage integrations.
- Experience configuring enterprise authentication systems (SSO, SCIM, OAuth).
- Experience designing and implementing row-level security in a BI or analytics platform.
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting embedded analytics in a SaaS environment.
- Experience creating technical documentation and training materials for enterprise customers and internal teams.
- Experience conducting technical discovery and requirements gathering with enterprise stakeholders.
- Experience designing and executing data-driven operational analysis projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent technical experience.
