About the Role

Albireo Energy is seeking a dedicated systems designer to produce detailed technical installation diagrams for data center automation and monitoring systems. This role supports the central engineering team in the design and implementation of strategic global projects, working under the Hardware Engineering Manager to deliver complex automation solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret customer specification packages to determine design factors.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to create mechanical and electrical system models.
  • Develop layouts, detailed design drawings, and diagrams for mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Draft detailed multi-view drawings of parts, sub-assemblies, and installation details.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all drawings, BOMs, files, and engineering records.
  • Model purchased parts for efficient assembly of electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Coordinate manufacturer submittals for connection details and design compatibility.
  • Analyze designs for compliance with standards such as OSHA and CE.
  • Review drawings for accuracy, material selection, and machining techniques.
  • Communicate requested design changes to the Engineering Group Leader.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and operational procedures.
  • Communicate task progress to project engineers or managers.
  • Supervise system design efforts on a project level and delegate tasks.
  • Organize project documentation including quotes, registers, and schedules.
  • Review electrical requirements with designers and machine operations with programmers.
  • Assist fabricators, machinists, and electricians in system debug and integration.
  • Determine tools and equipment for fabrication and assembly.
  • Select purchase components and create requisitions with delivery dates.

Requirements

  • Autodesk Inventor (2 years or equivalent training/experience).
  • Knowledge of drafting and drawing standards development.
  • Electrical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment screenings including background and drug checks.

Skills

  • Mechanical and electrical building systems knowledge.
  • Automation (P&ID) and monitoring systems knowledge.
  • Drafting principles.
  • AutoCAD and SolidWorks proficiency.
  • System design from sketches or verbal concepts.
  • Virtual collaboration using Microsoft Teams.
  • Electro-mechanical actuation and sensing devices.
  • Electrical devices (switches, sensors, transmitters, relays).
  • Conceptualizing solutions for complex design requirements.
  • Low voltage installation practices.
  • Revit or BIM modeling systems.
  • Physical network devices for operation technology.
  • Team management.
  • Client-facing interactions and solutions development.

Work Type

Experience Level

  • Autodesk AutoCAD Mechanical (5 years preferred).
  • Autodesk AutoCAD Electrical (5 years preferred).
  • Mechanical/Electrical System Design in automation (10 years preferred).

Education Level

  • BS in Mechanical/Electrical Technology or Engineering degree preferred.

Salary/Compensations

  • $80,000 - $100,000 per year depending on experience.
