About the Role
The Housekeeping Supervisor will report to the Housekeeping Manager and perform a variety of managerial functions, including supervision, coaching, and training of room and house attendants. This role ensures all work meets departmental and hotel standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee tasks such as staff scheduling, inspecting and approving public areas and guest rooms for cleanliness, ensuring timely turnover of checkout rooms, and interacting with guests politely.
- Serve as team lead for housekeeping staff, assigning and reviewing work.
- Maintain high-quality cleaning standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service and lead staff to do the same.
- Respond to customer complaints quickly and resolve them effectively.
- Develop strategies for improving guest experience.
- Communicate and coordinate with Engineering for efficient maintenance and repair of guest rooms and public areas.
- Manage a physically active role, demonstrating reliability and organization.
- Supervise subordinate staff, including assigning duties, evaluating service, and taking disciplinary action.
- Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, to provide clear directions to staff.
- Observe performance and encourage improvement.
- Perform guest room cleaning duties during staff shortages.
