About the Role
As a trainee journalist at Capital, you will learn all departments and channels of the Capital brand, from print to digital to audio and video, while also working closely with the editorial team of the news magazine Stern. You will learn all the processes of modern magazine production, research economic topics, and develop your own ideas for various journalistic formats. You will write and produce contributions for a modern business brand, support fact-checking, evaluate sources, and verify facts. You will attend press appointments and conduct research on-site. You will complete a four-week intensive journalism course at the Henri-Nannen-School.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- Completed university or university of applied sciences degree, ideally with a focus on business journalism.
- First journalistic writing experience, e.g., in reports, interviews, or analyses, and experience gained through internships or freelance work.
- Great interest in economics, media, and social developments.
- Proficient in using digital tools, platforms, and cross-media formats.
- Strong research skills and a good sense for relevant topics.
- Work carefully, reliably, and factually.
- Use AI responsibly as a work tool without neglecting journalistic self-performance.
- Bring commitment, creativity, and resilience.
- Flexible and willing to travel (nationally and internationally).
- Very good German and English language skills.
- Submit application documents, including cover letter, work samples (via PDF or link), and certificates.
