About the Role
Any Baby Can is an Austin-based nonprofit that has provided critical services to families in Central Texas for more than 47 years. This position provides evaluation, consultation, and direct service in fine motor or feeding to infants, toddlers, and their families as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy for clients to promote the acquisition of fine motor, oral motor and/or feeding skills.
- Integrate family involvement to implement fine motor, oral motor and/or feeding skills in all aspects of client routines.
- Provide clients and families with adaptive equipment and refer to other medical services as necessary.
- Recommend educational materials and activities to assist parents in implementing appropriate therapy techniques.
- Stay current with research and statistics in fine motor, oral motor, and feeding therapy.
- Deliver at least 85% of planned direct services.
- Deliver initial service within 28 days from IFSP date.
- Complete assessments and evaluations for clients with motor concerns to determine functioning level and eligibility.
- Develop Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSP) collaboratively with the client's family within 45 days of referral.
- Monitor the IFSP at least every six months to assess service effectiveness.
- Complete written reports and necessary paperwork daily, submitting within 48 hours of completion.
- Meet agency and program deadlines.
- Attend agency and program meetings and activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of Texas required.
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Experience working with children, families, and people of different cultures.
- Knowledge of the physical and psychological development of children.
- Must have reliable transportation to travel within the assigned region.
- If driving own vehicle, must have a valid driver's license.
- Ability to sit for extended periods.
- Ability to work more than 8 hours per day.
- Flexibility to work well under pressure and handle crisis situations.
- Ability to sit, stand, kneel as necessary to fulfill daily duties.
- Ability to communicate effectively/clearly.
