About the Role

Free People is seeking a Senior Concept Designer to join their in-house trend service. This role involves researching and sharing fashion trends, generating visual content, and creating presentations and publications to communicate these trends to the design team and cross-functional partners. The position is based at their world headquarters in Philadelphia, PA, with remote arrangements considered for highly qualified candidates, preferably in the Eastern Standard time zone.

Responsibilities

Contribute a unique creative perspective on current fashion trends.
Research trend direction in Color, Print, Graphics, Embellishment, Wash, Fabric, Silhouette, Shoes, and Design Details relevant to the Free People customer.
Compile visual content and build trend guides to document and communicate seasonal trends.
Utilize AI to create imagery for presentations.
Maintain communication with design teams regarding trend presentation dates, concept packet publication, and sample distribution.
Attend MSR’s and Sales meetings to gather selling information and identify categories needing trend support.
Serve as a leader and mentor on the Concept Team.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion, Graphic Design, Merchandising or similar discipline.
8+ years of experience in Fashion Design, Print Design, Concept Design, or Trend Forecasting.
Strong understanding and passion for the Free People customer and brand DNA.
Strong digital & visual presentation skills to create impactful & inspiring trend packs.
Passionate and knowledgeable of emerging trends from runway, apparel brands, street style, art, design, and influencers.
Highly organized and efficient, self-starter and solution seeker.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and team-based environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
