About the Role

Reddam House North Shore, an Inspired Education Group school, is seeking outstanding educators to join its team in preparation for significant growth. The Secondary English Teacher will guide students from Year 7 to Year 12, delivering high-quality instruction aligned with the NESA curriculum within a nurturing, student-centred environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily and long-term lesson plans adhering to curriculum standards and diverse learning needs.
• Arrange and manage classroom resources to support an engaging learning environment.
• Assess students’ abilities, strengths, and areas for improvement, providing individualized support.
• Maintain productive working habits and discipline to foster a respectful learning atmosphere.
• Set up and maintain tidy, organised classrooms.
• Supervise students throughout the school day, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Evaluate and assess students’ educational progress and abilities, providing feedback and reports.
• Monitor and support students’ emotional and social well-being.
• Prepare and administer exams, assignments, and other assessments, marking student work.
• Participate in staff meetings, House meetings, assemblies, and professional development days.
• Engage with parents and guardians to discuss student progress.
• Organise, attend, and supervise school activities, including excursions and events.
• Undertake professional development to maintain NESA accreditation and stay current with best practices.

Requirements

• Experienced in teaching at the secondary level with a strong understanding of NESA curriculum requirements.
• Effective classroom management focused on creating a positive and disciplined environment.
• Strong assessment skills with accurate monitoring and reporting of student progress.
• Experienced in organising and supervising school activities and events.
• Proficient in educational technologies and creative teaching methods.
• Passionate about education and committed to the holistic development of students from Years 7–12.
• Creative and innovative in teaching, inspiring and motivating students.
• Patient and empathetic, supporting students’ emotional and social well-being.
• Highly organised with strong time management and attention to detail.
• Collaborative team player, working well with colleagues, parents, and stakeholders.
• Resilient and adaptable in dynamic educational environments.
• Valid Working with Children Check.
• Willingness to assist with lunch/playground supervision and student drop-off/pick-up.
• Availability to attend school events outside regular hours.
