About the Role
Nevada State University invites applications for the position of 1000 Hour Appointment - ASC Program Coordinator. This role will report to the Director of the Academic Success Center (ASC) and provide operation and program support to maintain quality learning support services, customer service, outreach, marketing, and student engagement for the peer-embedded course support program.
Responsibilities
- Serves as the point person for day-to-day operations associated with the embedded programs and services, student staff, and embedded course assignments and faculty relationships in alignment with best practices.
- Coordinates support services and daily operations with other relevant units and reporting office.
- Coordinates and executes recruiting, hiring, and scheduling embedded peer leaders each semester.
- Coordinates the application, interview, and onboarding of new hires.
- Coordinates intentional schedule for embedded services by identifying embedded session times based on targeted courses and/or by polling students in the courses.
- Ensures that appropriate rooms are reserved once embedded sessions are scheduled.
- Holds regular meetings and observations with the embedded peer leaders.
- Trains and evaluates peer leaders in high-impact practices proven to promote student success, including: fostering a sense of belonging, metacognition and skill transfer, and facilitating collaborative learning.
- Promotes embedded services to faculty and students.
- Coordinates embedded support services with academic faculty and other relevant offices based on their needs.
- Coordinates course materials for embedded support.
- Sends outreach email, schedules and conducts regular faculty meetings.
- Ensures accurate tracking and reporting of program service utilization and satisfaction weekly/monthly/semester.
- Coordinates the distribution, collection, and analysis of program surveys.
- Organizes and evaluates student success data against usage date for semester/annual reports and outcomes assessment.
- Coordinates with staff and student workers to update and develop marketing materials, disbursement throughout campus, and promotion of services via flyers, videos, tabling, etc.
- Manages and maintains social media platforms and website content.
- Works with management to develop or support programming or initiatives related to the center mission such as: developing and facilitating effective study skills workshops for first year courses; supporting or tracking specific student populations or cohorts to provide retention or success interventions, etc.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- One (1) year of experience in higher education or a related professional role.
- Demonstrated commitment to a diverse, non-traditional, first-generation student population.
- Ability to work independently and contribute to a team environment while effectively managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
