About the Role
As Senior Cost Engineer, you will lead end-to-end cost management across major projects and portfolios, providing strategic oversight of budgeting, forecasting, cost control, reporting, and financial performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead project cost planning, budgeting, forecasting, cost control and reporting.
- Monitor cost performance, analyse variances and implement corrective actions.
- Develop EAC, ETC, cash flow forecasts and integrate cost with schedule, risk, and contingency management.
- Ensure compliance with project controls standards, governance, and cost assurance processes.
- Review contract variations and support commercial decision-making.
- Produce executive cost reports and provide insights to project leadership.
- Collaborate across project, engineering, commercial and finance teams while mentoring junior staff.
- Drive continuous improvement, standardisation, automation and optimisation of cost management systems and processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Commerce, Finance, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
- 7–10 years' experience in project controls, cost engineering, or commercial management on major projects.
- Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, cost control, earned value management (EVM), cost risk analysis, change management, and integrating cost with schedule and risk.
- Experience with project controls systems such as Primavera P6, Uniphi, InEight, EcoSys, Contruent/Prism, SAP, Oracle, Power BI, and advanced Excel.
- Excellent analytical, financial, leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- AACE CCP, PMI, or AIPM certification is desirable.
