About the Role

We are looking for an experienced cleaner, who is honest, takes pride in their work and is able to operate autonomously and can commit themselves to a 30 hour week. To clean all areas in the service ensuring that the service is clean and hygiene standards are met at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Clean all communal areas including residents' lounges, dining room, toilets, bathrooms, showers, halls, stairways, landings, and staff office.
  • Clean residents' bedrooms as required.
  • Wash down walls and paintwork of specified areas.
  • Vacuum carpets, sweep and polish floors.
  • Dust and polish surfaces.
  • Clean and disinfect communal toilets, baths, showers, and sinks.
  • Empty and clean ashtrays.
  • Clean and put away cleaning utensils.
  • Keep cleaning cupboards clean and tidy.
  • Report breakages or necessary replacements to senior staff.
  • Report safety or hygiene hazards to senior staff.
  • Co-operate with staff and residents in maintaining the care ethos of the project.
  • Undertake extra cleaning during COVID-19 outbreak, disinfecting high-touch surfaces daily and completing relevant paperwork.

Requirements

  • An awareness of the need to maintain a high standard of cleanliness, hygiene and safety throughout the house – especially during COVID-19 outbreak.
  • An appreciation that the house represents the home of the residents and is not simply a place of work.
  • A willingness to work alongside residents in shared cleaning tasks, as appropriate.
  • A willingness to undertake job related training as identified by the Manager.
  • Sensitivity towards people with special needs.
  • An appreciation of the need for confidentiality.
  • A willingness to work within the framework of Together’s Equal Opportunities Policy.
