Responsibilities
- Perform HVAC Control systems troubleshooting, installation, commissioning, and preventative maintenance related to mechanical, electrical, and low voltage controls components.
- Respond to service and warranty calls using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools, as well as hand tools and electronic testing equipment.
- Provide frontline technical and repair support through effective communication with customers.
- Recommend system repairs or updates and assist in proposing these to customers.
- Provide customers with solutions and outcomes to resolve building inefficiencies and service-related items.
- Upsell opportunities and provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
Requirements
- Vocational School program or an associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or similar field plus three years of industry experience in servicing electrical, electronic and/or mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
- Understanding of HVAC systems, sequence, and applications.
- Demonstrated technical aptitude in mechanical and electro-mechanical fields.
- Able to use hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment such as a multimeter.
- Solid knowledge base in the use of personal computers.
- Attention to detail.
- Good communication and listening skills.
- Willing to learn and be responsible for system troubleshooting, repair, and aftermarket services.
- Experienced in electrical and electronics troubleshooting.
- Ability to load Johnson Controls field and network level controller software.
- Ability to perform commissioning and system diagnostics for all levels of system controllers and end devices.
- Ability to keep management and JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues.
- Ability to calibrate systems requiring basic electronic test equipment.
- Ability to complete administrative tasks including time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
- Ability to document changes and provide information for as-built documentation.
- Ability to execute company-sponsored and personally initiated training to maintain knowledge and capability.
- Ability to engage with customers to understand their systems and needs.
- Ability to communicate with the JCI contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
- Ability to follow all safety standards and attend required safety training.
- High degree of employee and subcontractor safety.
