About the Role
The Transfer Specialist is responsible for the care, removal, and transport of the deceased, ensuring all processes remain in compliance while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
Responsibilities
- Safely drive company vehicles to perform first call transfers in accordance with laws and company policies
- Follow chain-of-custody, paperwork, and identification procedures
- Collaborate with first responders, coroners, and facility staff
- Interact professionally and sensitively with bereaved families during home transfers
- Enter event information into proprietary software
- Transport caskets to airports, care centers, or funeral homes
- Clean, vacuum, and fuel company vehicles
- Maintain vehicle supplies and personal protective equipment
- Report vehicle maintenance issues to management
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current province-issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and push/pull up to 200 pounds
- Ability to drive in hazardous traffic and weather conditions
- Ability to travel locally up to 100% of the time
- Ability to stand for up to 6 hours per day
- Ability to climb stairs frequently
