About the Role
Lead the development and delivery of school organisation strategies for London Borough of Harrow, ensuring statutory duties are met. This role involves close collaboration with Headteachers, Governing Bodies, Senior Officers, and other stakeholders, representing the Local Authority on strategic and operational matters.
Responsibilities
- Lead school organisation planning.
- Collaborate across Council departments to inform and support the schools’ capital programme.
- Liaise with neighbouring Local Authorities to coordinate and agree school term dates.
- Oversee the publication of school term dates.
- Provide regular briefings and updates to the Head of Service.
- Support communications and reporting for Members and Chief Officers regarding school organisation.
Requirements
- Knowledge of government policies and priorities in relation to school organisation and admissions.
- Evidence of good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good analytical skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Ability to be solution-focused.
- Ability to undertake visits to schools and other sites as required.
- Ability to attend evening meetings.
- Experience of liaising effectively with schools, parents, officers, and other stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
