About the Role
The Warehouse/Logistics Supervisor oversees daily warehouse operations, including inventory management, shipping, receiving, and distribution. This role ensures operational efficiency, accuracy, safety, and compliance while leading a team to meet organizational goals and customer expectations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, order fulfillment, and shipping.
- Lead, train, coach, and evaluate warehouse staff to ensure productivity, safety, and adherence to company policies.
- Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate inventory records through warehouse management systems (WMS) or ERP software.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics with carriers, vendors, and internal departments.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of customer orders and shipments.
- Conduct cycle counts and physical inventory audits to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shipping issues, and operational challenges.
- Monitor warehouse performance metrics and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Schedule labor and allocate resources to meet operational demands.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and transportation of products to minimize damage and loss.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and warehouse operational planning.
- Prepare reports on warehouse activities, inventory status, productivity, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of warehouse or logistics experience.
- Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or team leadership role.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control processes.
- Forklift certification is preferred or the ability to obtain certification.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Frequent bending, reaching, climbing, and carrying materials.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
