About the Role

Ensure quality control for manufactured parts in accordance with established company and customer standards. Perform inspections, verify product conformance to engineering drawings and specifications, document inspection results, and communicate quality findings to management and production personnel. Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of quality inspection activities to ensure consistent execution of quality standards, employee development, and departmental performance.

Responsibilities

Perform inspections using a variety of instruments (calipers, micrometers, CMMs, height gauges, optical comparators, etc.) and calculations to determine conformity to engineering drawings and specifications.
Perform visual inspections under magnification to determine conformity to customer and company standards.
Review certifications from suppliers and vendors to verify compliance with engineering and customer requirements.
Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation using company databases and quality management systems.
Coordinate inspection activities to ensure work is completed efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with production priorities.
Communicate inspection findings, nonconformances, and quality concerns to production, engineering, and management in a timely manner.
Assist in root cause investigations and support corrective and preventive action activities.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve product quality, reduce defects, and enhance inspection processes.
Ensure compliance with company quality procedures, customer requirements, AS9100 standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Provide day-to-day leadership, direction, and work assignments for Quality Control Inspectors and Technicians.
Train, mentor, and develop team members on inspection methods, quality standards, equipment operation, and documentation requirements.
Monitor employee performance, provide coaching and constructive feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
Partner with Human Resources to address attendance, performance, and employee relations issues through coaching and corrective action when appropriate.
Ensure employees comply with all safety requirements, company policies, quality procedures, and regulatory standards.
Plan and prioritize departmental workload to support production schedules and customer delivery commitments.
Participate in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new Quality team members.
Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, teamwork, and customer focus.
Track departmental performance metrics and implement improvements to increase quality, efficiency, and productivity.
Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to resolve quality issues and drive process improvements.

Eligible to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
Previous experience supervising or leading quality personnel in an aerospace, precision machining, or advanced manufacturing environment.
Working knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, GD&T, and blueprint interpretation.
Experience with CMM programming or advanced metrology equipment preferred.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
