About the Role

As the Analyst, Japan Equities, you will support the Japan Portfolio Manager(s) in the Global Asset Management team located in Hong Kong.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Japan PM and other members of the team in Hong Kong and Tokyo, plus other GAM teams to implement the stock screening process.
  • Conduct on-the-ground research on companies and sectors as directed by the portfolio management team.
  • Take on primary analyst coverage in due course on specific sector universe.

Requirements

  • Good understanding of financial modeling.
  • Solid analytical capabilities to digest research and information and extract trends.
  • Sell side or buy side experience in Technology Sector (Hardware/Semiconductor).
  • Ability to multi-task and work with short timelines in an environment of rapid and changing information flow.
  • Self-starter with strong initiative and ability to highlight process improvements.
  • Good team player able to work well within a diverse and multi-office team.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong command of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Fluent in written and spoken Japanese and English.
  • Experience or potential to grow into an information technology sector research analyst.
  • Broader perspective (Pan Asia, global) is a plus.
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience (buy side, sell side, investment banking etc).
  • Related degree educated (Business, Economics, Finance etc).
  • CFA preferred.
  • Bloomberg skills would be an asset.
