About the Role
As a Program Manager on the Target Rock Team, you will be responsible for the business results of the Defense Valves Program, including profit and loss, meeting annual plans, and driving growth. Your scope includes leading a cross-functional team, managing P&L, generating new business and proposals, booking orders, and overseeing operations to ensure customer satisfaction for a key client.
Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional teams to ensure all project commitments are satisfied.
- Direct ownership of 20% of the business unit's annual P&L.
- Report financial metrics to senior management, including Operational Income, Sales, Cashflow, Working Capital, and %ROS.
- Create, track, assign, and distribute documentation and reports for managing programs, such as Sales Plans, Delivery Reports, and Project Schedules.
- Establish, track, and monitor project budgets, developing and implementing contingency and recovery plans as needed.
- Support Sales in request for quotes (RFQ) and/or invitations to bid (ITB), including reviews, terms and conditions (T&C), and project/budget histories.
- Serve as customer interface, scheduling audits, surveillance inspections, and providing project progress reports.
- Meet annual sales booking targets.
- Approve and assign Warranty Projects.
- Interact with Sourcing and suppliers to plan and secure materials for the program and future production.
- Periodically travel to customer and supplier sites to support program execution and business development.
- Develop contingency plans in potential risk areas and identify deployment criteria to resolve potential problems, reporting concerns to upper management.
- Apprise senior management of all concerns noted during daily activities.
Requirements
- Must be a US citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance.
- Five (5) years of experience in Program Management.
- Familiarity with Technical/Engineering specifications and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively develop and manage detailed program budgets.
- Familiarity with Earned Value Management Systems and Risk Management.
- Strong financial acumen and experience reporting financials to senior management.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures for a high complexity product line.
- Prior engineering/operations experience with current experience in program management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Strong customer relationship experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information to diverse internal and external audiences.
- Proficiency in P/C computer skills, with excellence in MS Office including MS Project.
- Prior mainframe applications and ORACLE ERP knowledge is a plus.
- Prior experience with overseeing Navy programs is a plus.
