About the Role

Supervise employees at the USA Distribution Center, guiding them toward achieving operational objectives and daily goals. Foster an environment focused on teamwork and collaboration through leadership, effective communication, staff training, and participation in planning activities for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and directly supervise a team of up to ten (10) employees performing functions related to e-commerce order fulfillment, receiving and distributing merchandise, and processing e-commerce returns.
  • Optimize productivity by effectively evaluating and allocating labor resources to efficiently manage daily workload requirements.
  • Define and implement new processes for the USA start-up operation.
  • Hire and train new employees or agency staff during peak seasons.
  • Consistently achieve performance targets and service quality agreement objectives.
  • Guide the team toward achieving KPIs while ensuring the highest level of customer service.
  • Ensure smooth daily operations and that daily priorities are met.
  • Manage personnel, including supervision, conflict resolution, planning, organizing, directing, and controlling shift activities, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Supervise the put-away and location assignment of merchandise received during the day shift.
  • Prepare merchandise distributions to be completed during the day shift.
  • Receive incoming orders and shipments.
  • Support and participate in operational tasks when required (e.g., picking orders, putaway tasks, lift truck operations).
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of distribution center inventory.
  • Monitor and track distribution center statistical data.
  • Participate in the development of operating budgets, monitor monthly variances, justify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.
  • Track employee hours, absences, and tardiness daily and weekly.
  • Liaise with day-shift supervisors to coordinate priorities and maintain communication with various head office departments.
  • Promote and implement all health and safety policies and regulations.
  • Develop processes and procedures to improve operations and recommend changes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order throughout the distribution center.

Requirements

  • Professional Studies Diploma (or equivalent).
  • Minimum five (5) years of supervisory experience in a distribution center.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • Good knowledge of computer applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Available to work Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., 40 hours per week.
  • High level of autonomy required as the Director of Operations is based remotely in Quebec, Canada.
  • Required to attend training at the Distribution Center in Montreal, Quebec for approximately two (2) to three (3) weeks.
