About the Role
The HVAC Service Technician installs and repairs residential and commercial propane and/or oil burner equipment and appliances while ensuring a high level of customer service. This role serves as a Depew Energy ambassador by adhering to company policies and values.
Responsibilities
- Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs oil and/or propane heating systems in accordance with applicable codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Performs efficiency tests, tune-ups, and contract service inspections.
- Ensures all work is performed safely and accurately to eliminate call-backs and reduce liability.
- Promotes company image through professional appearance and courteous service.
- Promotes company products and services, advising customers on best options.
- Maintains a neat and orderly service vehicle with tools and equipment in safe operating condition.
- Records and reports parts and labor for service calls, maintaining and tracking parts inventories.
- Participates in on-call schedules for nights and weekends as necessary.
- Reports all accidents, spills, and liability claims.
- Performs propane Gas-check inspections according to applicable codes and company policy without supervision.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Apprentice: Must have successfully completed an oil burner training course or CETP program.
- Journeyman: Must have at least one year of relevant oil and/or propane service experience.
- Master: Must have two or more years of relevant oil and/or propane service experience.
- Apprentice, Journeyman, or Master designation licensing is necessary in states where required.
- Applicable propane CETP certification is required for propane technicians.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical.
- Must have a valid motor vehicle driver's license.
- Driving record must meet company standards at employment and annually thereafter.
