About the Role
The Material Handler is responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, count, unload, and load merchandise within the warehouse. The role requires the safe and efficient use of industrial vehicles and equipment, order selection, and inspection as needed. The incumbent must adhere to operational and safety policies and procedures and assist in preparing display packs for customers.
Responsibilities
- Verify quantities, lot numbers, and production code dates against manifests and driver documents.
- Move product to the appropriate storage locations.
- Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring accuracy against picking documents.
- Perform picking duties efficiently to meet customer service standards.
- Load, unload, move, stack, and stage products and materials using forklifts or other power equipment.
- Inspect equipment daily to ensure operational status and safety compliance.
- Assist in unstacking, packing, shrink wrapping, and restacking pallets for display packs.
Requirements
- Prior forklift experience.
- Detail-oriented and results-driven.
- Ability to stand for 4-8 hours a day.
- Ability to walk for short periods.
- Ability to climb/balance on forklifts, trucks, and docks.
- Must be able to speak, read, and understand the English language.
