About the Role

We are seeking a Software Engineer to contribute to our internal technology ecosystem. This role involves maintaining and expanding our database architecture, EDI connections, API integrations, and centralized reporting platform. You will collaborate with various teams to ensure our technology foundation is stable, scalable, and aligned with the company’s long-term strategy. This position combines software integration, data engineering, and system design with a strong understanding of logistics workflows, ideal for problem-solvers who enjoy creating technical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and expand database architecture, EDI connections, API integrations, and centralized reporting platform.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Pricing, Carrier Procurement, Finance, and Executive Leadership.
  • Design and manage database schemas and architecture (MySQL/BigQuery).
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines, including TMS webhook ingestion and various API integrations (RingCentral, Salesforce, Xero, Bamboo, Microsoft Graph, DAT, Turvo, Slack).
  • Manage SFTP and ERP integrations.
  • Feed data to three projects on Google Cloud Platform (GCP): Customer, Carrier, and Operations.
  • Manage 50+ cloud run services deployed via PowerShell on GCP.
  • Handle operational workflows, database updates, and reporting via Cloud Scheduler triggers.
  • Create automated email reports with internal and external facing capabilities.
  • Provide manual reporting assistance using Colab scripts or Excel.
  • Enhance the current platform by collaborating internally.
  • Develop dashboards for employees to view performance metrics.
  • Create a wrapper over the TMS for a more controlled and streamlined user experience.
  • Assist with developing the release follow-up process.
  • Participate in roundtables as time allows.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in integration engineering, data engineering, or backend development.
  • Strong experience with REST & GRAPH APIs (designing, consuming, troubleshooting).
  • Proficiency with Python or GO.
  • Strong SQL skills (MariaDB/MySQL environment).
  • Experience building and maintaining ETL pipelines.
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts.
  • GitHub / Repo management knowledge.
  • Experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain systems.
  • Familiarity with concepts like tendering, tracking, PODs, capacity, brokerage workflows.
  • Strong documentation discipline.
  • Ability to communicate technical topics to non-technical teams.
  • Comfortable working independently and exploring unfamiliar systems.
  • Bias toward automation and efficiency.
  • High ownership mindset.
  • Prior work with Turvo (API, webhooks, data exports) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of MySQL & Big Query is a plus.
  • Experience working with external development partners is a plus.
  • Experience building user-facing internal tools or admin dashboards is a plus.
