About the Role

Join the Adviser Skills and Competence team as a member of the national supervisory team. You will provide quality oversight, risk analysis, and developmental support to advisers, acting as a responsible manager for ongoing competency under SMCR.

Responsibilities

  • Manage advisers' ongoing competency under SMCR through observations, 1:1s, coaching, feedback, and data analysis.
  • Collaborate with line managers to create shared goals and effective development plans.
  • Provide expert counsel at individual, office, and business levels to cultivate a positive culture.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to provide insights into advisor performance, data, and behavioral trends.
  • Identify and implement development opportunities across the national network.
  • Manage individual supervision activities including planning and record-keeping to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to panels, projects, and strategic initiatives.
  • Advocate for best practices and support Certified Persons in meeting regulatory obligations and KRI management.
  • Analyze MI/Data to identify patterns, investigate root causes, and recommend remedial actions.
  • Apply a continuous improvement mindset to mitigate risk.

Requirements

  • Maintain own competence as a Supervisor and keep CPD up to date.
  • Understanding of the FCA T&C handbook and the broader regulatory environment.
  • Ability to apply FCA handbook guidance with confidence and flexibility.
  • Strong business awareness and strategic focus.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to high standards of quality.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for all organizational levels.
