About the Role

The Director, Equity Derivatives Sales will focus on insurance clients for fixed-strike and light-exotic options, bringing existing client relationships to the platform. This role requires a deep understanding of equity and equity derivatives markets, trading experience, and strategic thinking to evolve the commercial strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Execute strategic business and financial plans for distribution of Equity Derivatives Sales products across U.S. investor clients.
  • Partner with trading, risk, origination, and other teams across the firm to enhance CIBC’s functional capabilities.
  • Keep up to date with market trends.

Requirements

  • Existing client relationships that can be brought to the platform.
  • Deep understanding of the equity and equity derivatives markets.
  • Trading experience.
  • Strategic thinker capable of adapting to changes in the product and client landscapes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial markets, specifically, Equity Derivatives functions and products.
  • Detailed working knowledge of the industry and market to assess impact of market conditions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills to develop and leverage relationships with clients, internal and/or external business partners.
  • Significant presentation/interactive skills sufficient to clearly articulate complex conceptual information/ideas on issues involving extensive interpretation and opinion.
  • Negotiating and influencing skills to shape decision-making processes at senior levels and resolve situations where compromise solutions are often negotiated.
  • Creativity skills sufficient to resolve complex problems and/or identify innovative alternatives or opportunities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of elements of profitability, risk, and cost control.
  • Knowledge of business/finance typically acquired through university business degree or equivalent combination of education and industry experience and relevant post-graduate education as specified by US-FIC.
  • Unquestioned professionalism, ethics and reputation and proven ability to exercise strong independent judgment when making business decisions and/or representing CIBC World Markets.
  • Attention to detail, strategic thinking capability with ability to identify and exploit trends and opportunities.
  • Embrace and champion change, continuously evolving thinking and work methods.
  • Influence and impact through relationships and networks.
  • Digitally savvy, seeking innovative solutions and embracing evolving technologies.
