About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Backend/Infrastructure Engineer with 5-8+ years of experience to lead backend architecture for our member engagement platform, web onboarding flows, and integration layer. This role involves deploying AI agents and offers significant autonomy in shaping architecture, engineering practices, and hiring standards.
Responsibilities
- Own core backend services (AWS Lambda/ECS/Fargate/API Gateway, Supabase, Postgres, Snowflake)
- Harden workflows currently on low-code tools into production-grade services with proper observability and testing
- Drive architecture for personalization, AI enablement, and a unified member hub
- Lead vendor integrations and migrations; write ADRs and runbooks
- Partner cross-functionally with product, design, ops, and compliance
- Set the bar for API design, testing, observability, and on-call practices
Requirements
- 5–8+ years owning production backend systems end-to-end
- Strong API design fundamentals (REST/event-driven), regardless of framework
- Proficient in JS/TS, Python, or Kotlin; AWS infrastructure; Postgres/Supabase; Snowflake or similar
- Experience integrating with underdocumented vendor APIs and handling production edge cases
- Observability-first mindset; solid data modeling instincts
- Nice to have: NestJS, Terraform, Auth0, HIPAA/SOC 2 experience, LLM-powered workflow deployment

- $185,000–$200,000 base + up to 10% bonus + meaningful equity
