About the Role
The Restaurant Busser professionally serves guests by assisting in food delivery, preparing items needed for food preparation, and supporting the culinary team. This role involves providing information about culinary and beverage selections, accurately presenting and serving items, ensuring guest satisfaction, and communicating effectively with team members to resolve issues.
Responsibilities
- Clear, clean, and reset tables promptly according to restaurant standards.
- Assist servers in delivering food, beverages, condiments, and other guest requests.
- Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, service stations, and restaurant facilities throughout each shift.
- Refill water glasses, coffee, bread, and other guest amenities as directed.
- Remove used dishes, glassware, and utensils and transport them to the dishwashing area.
- Stock service stations with necessary supplies, including silverware, napkins, glassware, and condiments.
- Assist with polishing silverware, rolling utensils, and preparing dining room setups.
- Support banquets or special event operations when needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of floors, booths, chairs, menus, and high-touch surfaces.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest inquiries and requests.
- Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist with opening and closing side work as assigned.
- Always promote a positive and professional image of the hotel and restaurant.
Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive movements.
- Ability to work in a busy restaurant environment with moderate noise levels.
- High school or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of high-end hotel restaurant server experience preferred.
- RBS and SERV Safe certified required.
- Fluency in English both verbally and non-verbally.
- Employees may be required to work varying schedules, including holidays and weekends, to reflect business needs.
