About the Role
GFT is seeking a Resident Engineer to join our Construction Services team. This role involves acting as an Owner Agent to provide construction management and inspection services for various projects, including transportation and transit facilities. The position requires developing construction documents and procedures, overseeing multiple projects, and ensuring completion on schedule, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Conducts and documents project meetings with clients.
- Manages construction field personnel, including teaming partners.
- Negotiates and approves construction change orders.
- Responds to Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Prepares proposals and presentations.
- Prepares and monitors project schedules and budgets.
- Prepares and issues reports and correspondence.
- Approves quantities for measurement and payment purposes.
- Approves construction payment applications.
- Resolves technical issues.
- Performs constructability reviews and value engineering studies.
- Leads Risk Management assessments.
- Prepares and monitors Quality Control and Assurance Plans.
- Develops Standard Operating Procedures.
Requirements
- Must possess a driver’s license to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
Skills
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Good oral and written communication skills.

Education Level
- Bachelor’s in Engineering or Construction Management preferred
- CCM preferred
- Experience with Primavera P6 preferred.
- 10-hour OSHA Safety course preferred.
Salary/Compensations
- $200,000- $250,000
