About the Role

We are seeking a Software Engineer to modernize the Nylas Dashboard and its surrounding full-stack product surfaces. This foundational role involves owning user-facing surfaces, APIs, data models, and internal platform patterns to transform the Dashboard into an AI-native control plane for developers.

Responsibilities

• Build and own core Dashboard infrastructure including application shell, navigation, and shared components.
• Design and implement full-stack product experiences across frontend, backend APIs, and service integrations.
• Modernize the Dashboard into a fast, polished, and cohesive control plane.
• Develop AI-native and agent-facing experiences for product configuration and debugging.
• Work across product areas including Email, Calendar, Scheduler, Notetaker, and Agent Accounts.
• Partner with backend and platform teams to design clean APIs and service boundaries.
• Profile, measure, and optimize Dashboard performance.
• Create reusable abstractions and shared patterns for engineering teams.
• Improve onboarding, self-serve configuration, and product discovery.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools to accelerate implementation and improve quality.
• Ship incrementally and continuously based on customer feedback and technical judgment.
• Collaborate with Design, Product, Customer Success, and Developer Relations teams.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a software engineer building user-facing products.
• Strong full-stack engineering experience with React, TypeScript, and component-driven architecture.
• Experience building backend APIs, services, data models, and integrations.
• Strong product mindset with focus on usability, information architecture, and developer experience.
• Experience building products for developers, technical users, or complex B2B SaaS workflows.
• Systems thinking ability to create reusable abstractions and clean APIs.
• Comfort working in ambiguous product areas with pragmatic decision-making.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Bias toward shipping and iterating based on feedback.
• Experience using AI tools in development workflows.
