About the Role

Provide quality service and repair of complex MX-Series airborne surveillance turrets. Deploy internationally to work assignments overseas at remote locations, potentially including hazardous conflict regions. Project a positive image of the department and company, meeting customer expectations for service and support of L3Harris Technologies equipment. This role requires a self-motivated, creative, forward-thinking, and energetic individual with excellent communication, relationship building, and problem-solving skills. The ability to interface well with demanding customers and co-workers is critical. The ideal candidate is a strong team player, customer-focused, and capable of working independently to make critical decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, Test and Maintain Wescam MX-Series sensor systems in accordance with pre-established processes and customer deadlines.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and test failed systems, understanding the gimbal system and component interactions.
  • Troubleshoot problems related to product aircraft integration of the MX product line.
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance on MX turrets.
  • Become proficient in troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of Wescam MX sensor systems within 90 days.
  • Apply knowledge of troubleshooting electronics and mechanical systems.
  • Provide customer service and collaborate within a motivated and diverse team.
  • Support U.S. Homeland Security, Law Enforcement, and DOD Military customers by repairing mission-critical Wescam sensor systems.
  • Act as a resource to other employees in areas of expertise.
  • Complete necessary service and repair documentation and technical trip reports.
  • Provide Wescam Training to customers on MX operations and operator-level maintenance procedures.
  • Obtain and maintain an active secret security clearance.

Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience OR 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 3 years of prior related experience.
  • Must be available to provide occasional off-hour or weekend tasks in support of customer requirements.
  • Willingness & ability to support assignments at OCONUS sites for short-term deployment periods is required.
  • Employment is contingent upon meeting all medical requirements for overseas assignment including comprehensive post-offer medical examination.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an active secret security clearance.

Experience Level

  • Minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience (with High School Diploma or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 3 years of prior related experience (with 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree)
  • Minimum of 4 years experience with electronic and mechanical test equipment
  • Minimum of 4 years experience troubleshooting and repairing problems related to product aircraft integration, electronics and mechanical systems, down to the line replaceable unit level
  • Minimum of 4 years prior FSR experience in both CONUS and OCONUS repair assignments and tasks (desired)
  • Minimum of 4 years experience with MS Office applications
  • Minimum of 4 years experience communicating clearly (written and verbal) with technical and non-technical customers
  • Previous work experience with aircraft, tower, or aerostat-based MX sensor systems (highly desired)
  • Previous experience communicating with contacts, within and outside the department, on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring explanation or interpretation to reach an understanding/agreement
  • Previous success working under limited supervision or autonomously
  • Previous experience successfully prioritizing and managing multiple projects at one time
