About the Role

Northrop Grumman designs and builds the next generation of high-performance Aircraft Support Equipment. This role supports the Manufacturing & Production Organization within the Aeronautics Systems sector as a Mechanical Assembler – Level 1.

Responsibilities

  • Interpreting technical drawings, models, diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and specifications to ensure builds are accurate.
  • Safely using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, torque wrenches) to fit and align parts.
  • Inspecting components before and after assembly to detect defects, missing pieces, or malfunctions.
  • Safely lifting heavy parts and moving materials across the shop floor.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical assembling in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanics, fasteners, hardware, and structural buildouts.
  • Ability to use MS Office products and CAD viewers on a daily basis.
  • High hand-eye coordination for precision assembly.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, perform repetitive tasks, and regularly lift 40-50 lbs.
  • Ability to work flexible, changing shifts, including weekends.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government clearance and Special Program Access within a reasonable period.
  • U.S. Citizenship required for clearance.
